Passby support

Passby pings you when a friend you added is close, so you can run into each other.

I never get pings

Passby needs location set to "Allow all the time" (on iPhone, "Always" with Precise Location on), and notifications on. On Android, also turn off battery optimization for Passby. The map shows a red warning when background location is off.

How close does a friend have to be?

Within the smaller of your two radar sizes. You set yours in Settings, from 50 to 200 m.

How do I hide somewhere?

Hold the map on the spot, or press the shield button, then tap each corner of the area. Inside a stealth zone nobody can see you. Ghost mode, in Settings, hides you everywhere until you turn it off.

How do I add a friend?

Open Friends, and send your friend code or show your QR code. Once they accept, you can ping each other.

New phone

Sign in with the same Apple or Google account. Friends are kept only on your old phone, so add them again.

Deleting your account

Open Settings and press Delete account. See the privacy policy for what that removes.

Reporting someone

Remove them from Friends first. That blocks them at once: they lose your photo and can't see when you are near. Then write to us with what happened. See the terms of service for the rules everyone agrees to.
